How to cut dough with a stencil

You might not have every shaped cookie cutter in you cupbaord, so this is a great technique to cut shapes into homemade dough. Uses shapes from a simple circle like Josh Eggleton's ginger snap biscuits to cats like Rachel Davies Halloween biscuits.

Method

1
Fold a square of baking parchment in half
2
Draw half of a heart shape on the folded paper
3
Cut around the shape with kitchen scissors
4
Place the stencil over the rolled out dough
5
Using a knife follow the outline of the stencil cutting through the dough
6
Once you've cut all the way around the stencil, remove the excess dough and discard
